The mission of Building Innovation Research Centre is to cluster, highlight, and promote research related to building construction from multidisciplinary technical perspectives. These areas include but are not limited to building science, construction, environment, geomechanics, materials, resilience, structures, sustainability, and water resources.
From the perspective of the industry, regulatory bodies, and the community at large, the centre provides a go-to place for designers, consultants, developers, builders, and policy-makers. Community leaders, social housing groups, condominium owners, and office workers could access the latest research on retrofitting buildings or indoor air quality in high rises.
The centre will also provide opportunities for researchers to meet, share advances in tall building research, and foster collaboration. As such, the Centre will host an annual showcase to bring together researchers in this area of interest. At that time, graduate students, faculty, and the larger community will have the opportunity to learn more about ongoing research and research opportunities.
